Sekolah Gratis dalam Perspektif Pendidikan Modern: Tinjauan Literatur Tentang Dampak Sosial, Ekonomi, dan Akademik

Abstract
This study examines the multidimensional implications of free schooling within the framework of modern education by analyzing its social, economic, and academic consequences through a structured literature review. The main problem addressed in this research concerns the extent to which free schooling influences social inclusion, economic mobility, and learning quality in contemporary educational systems. The study aims to synthesize conceptual and empirical findings to construct an integrated understanding of free schooling as a public policy instrument. Employing a qualitative literature review method, the analysis identifies that free schooling enhances social participation, strengthens equitable access, and broadens opportunities for disadvantaged communities. Economically, the findings indicate that free schooling reduces household financial burdens, increases individual rate of return on education, and contributes to long-term national productivity. Academically, free schooling improves the learning environment by minimizing structural barriers and supporting the development of essential student competencies. The study concludes that free schooling functions not merely as a cost-reduction initiative but as a strategic intervention that reinforces social structures, strengthens economic resilience, and elevates educational quality in a sustainable and measurable manner.
Abstrak
Penelitian ini mengkaji implikasi multidimensional kebijakan sekolah gratis dalam kerangka pendidikan modern dengan menelaah dampak sosial, ekonomi, dan akademik melalui tinjauan literatur yang terstruktur. Pokok permasalahan yang diangkat berkaitan dengan sejauh mana sekolah gratis memengaruhi inklusi sosial, mobilitas ekonomi, dan mutu pembelajaran dalam sistem pendidikan kontemporer. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyintesiskan temuan konseptual dan empiris guna menghasilkan pemahaman terpadu mengenai sekolah gratis sebagai instrumen kebijakan publik. Menggunakan metode tinjauan literatur kualitatif, analisis menunjukkan bahwa sekolah gratis meningkatkan partisipasi sosial, memperkuat kesetaraan akses, serta memperluas peluang bagi kelompok rentan. Dari aspek ekonomi, hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa sekolah gratis meringankan beban finansial rumah tangga, meningkatkan rate of return pendidikan pada tingkat individu, dan berkontribusi pada produktivitas nasional jangka panjang. Sementara dalam bidang akademik, kebijakan ini memperbaiki lingkungan belajar melalui pengurangan hambatan struktural dan penguatan kompetensi dasar peserta didik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sekolah gratis bukan sekadar kebijakan pengurangan biaya, melainkan strategi pembangunan yang memperkuat struktur sosial, ketahanan ekonomi, dan kualitas pendidikan secara berkelanjutan.
