Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of women in the Qur'an, specifically in Surah An-Nisa' verse 119, using a textual approach in Islamic studies. This verse addresses themes of human behavior and God's commandments, where the position of women becomes a crucial aspect to examine. Through qualitative analysis, this research explores the meanings and contexts contained in the text, as well as interpretations generated by scholars and Islamic thinkers. The results of the analysis indicate that this verse reflects the complexity of women's roles in society, recognizing their rights and responsibilities, and portraying the relationship between women and the broader community. In this context, women are viewed not only as objects but also as subjects who have a voice in decision-making.The findings of this study contribute to a deeper understanding of the position of women in the Qur'an and its implications for the formation of gender norms and values in social and religious contexts. Thus, this research is expected to open further discussions about the representation of women in sacred texts and their relevance in addressing challenges in the modern era.
