Abstract

Arabic sentence structure (tarkib) is one of the core components in mastering Arabic language skills. To achieve optimal proficiency in this area, appropriate and contextual teaching methods are essential. This study aims to analyze the tarkib teaching methods implemented at Ma’had Aly Ibnu Hajar al-Islami al-‘Aly. The institution applies three main methods in tarkib instruction: the al-mubāsyir (direct), al-qiyāsiyyah (analogical), and al-istiqrā’iyyah (inductive) approaches. This research employs a descriptive-analytical approach, with data collected through document analysis of curricula and textbooks, classroom observations, and in-depth interviews with instructors. The findings indicate that these three methods are applied consistently and integratively, enabling the creation of an active Arabic language environment at Ma’had Aly Ibnu Hajar al-Islami al-‘Aly. The tarkib teaching methods used are considered both relevant and effective, and are recommended for adoption by other Islamic boarding schools aiming to develop a communicative Arabic learning atmosphere. Furthermore, these methods have the potential to be continuously enhanced through innovative use of media, learning activities, and more dynamic evaluation systems.
